Brian D. Katz is highly experienced in the practice areas of civil litigation, maritime law, personal injury, civil RICO, construction liability, highway design liability, and premises liability.
Mr. Katz attended the University of Alabama, where he was the President of the College of Communication and Zeta Beta
Tau fraternity, as well as a member of the Blue Key Honor Society and the Order of Omega.
After receiving his B.A. from the University of Alabama, Mr. Katz attended Tulane University School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate. While at Tulane, Mr. Katz clerked for the Orleans Parish Juvenile
Indigent Defender's Office.
Developing a broad civil practice, Mr. Katz has specialized in plaintiff cases, including personal injury, products liability, and attorney fee and construction disputes. He also has experience litigating matters throughout the state and federal courts in the State of Louisiana.
In addition, Mr. Katz has spoken at and moderated continuing legal education programs presented by the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Katz is an active member of the Federal Bar Association, the Louisiana Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association (where he has served on the Medical Malpractice Committee and presently is a member of the Auto Torts Section). Mr. Katz has also served on the President's Advisory Board of the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association.
He practices at the HermanGerel office in New Orleans, Louisiana.
